Good morning my art lovers,
I am writing this letter to you in a hotel in Pagosa Springs, CO before I step on stage for my lecture on Christian art history and the relevant cultural implications to the castrated mental state of the modern man. Its a beautiful change of scenery and its easy to understand how a person can come to a place like this to re-center their spirituality by re-connecting with nature.
The silence alone is healing.
I have completed my first composition, one of twelve, in my biblical series.
And I wanted to share a little bit behind the scenes of Genesis. Here is a sketchbook rough draft of my initial design along with some of the pictorial reading I have been delving into in regards to the symbolism.
To my collectors, you are well aware of how thick my brush marks stand on the canvas in person due to my love of the impressionists - in particular I wanted to exhibit this quality in the sky of eyes. As if they were drawn by a child only to anchor a gravitational pull of textures like a river of jagged fish swimming around eyelet rocks.
Now here is the painting outside in the sunlight in completion, I am peeking above to give a sense of scale. I enjoy how the backdrop behind the painting plays analogously to the work.
I understand not my entire following is Christian, or any religious denomination at that. My objective in sharing this series with you all is not in the spirit of evangelizing, I am an artist first and am just going where the art takes me.
But I hope those of you who’ve messaged me the last few months that took offense to the contextual direction of my paintings can at least appreciate the formalism and aesthetic depth being presented in front of you - after all this painting took me three months!
For every painting produced in this series a limited edition print will be available.
For those of you who envision having the entire collection you're going to want to get it while its hot. Once they are sold out, they are sold out.

Genesis Limited Edition Print
When I return from my travels at the end of this week I begin painting The Fall, its going to be heartbreaking, dramatic and red. I’ve recently been humbled to communicate with a former prison chaplain, he shared with me stories of regret and betrayal by some of the inmates that have effectively fueled the inception of this one.
A special thank you to my collectors and inner circle of supporters that fuel the flame of virtuous aesthetics being put out into the cultural front, believe me I sincerely appreciate it. Please consider becoming a monthly patron and joining this small circle here, it goes a long way.
Until then, don’t bite the apple.
Arthur Kwon Lee
