Behind the Scenes of my Magnum Opus โ #originism
Good afternoon my art lovers,
I write this to you awaiting my flight to Nashvilleโs Q Ideas Summit, a cultural conference for Christian influencers and thinkers. I have been invited as an ambassador for my art collective the Genesis Council. This has been only one of my trips in a long line of destinations Iโve had diving into the Bible, and I still have a lot more traveling on schedule with renowned pastors, theologians, church elders and cultural figures.
Itโs been amazing.
Iโm not a bible thumper, and fundamentalism has the same stench as collectivism at the end of the day.
But there is no denying that the history and symbolism of Christianity undergirds the foundations of Western civilization itself. Many of you have heard me speak on stage that it is no coincidence that the greatest masterpieces throughout art history are consistently religious in nature.
It has been amazing to witness the quality of men and women who have come forward to share their life analogies and religious understandings with me. The past five months have been dedicated too traveling and sketching in fellowship with honorable Christians that believe in human freedom and recognize God is not some old man in the sky obstructing fornication.
Throughout this journey Iโve seen that the further you go into religious subject matter the more visual stimulation you see synonymous to the Logos.
I believe weโve lost this, ontological categories are clearly made through picture for accessibility for any level of education, economic class or spiritual depth. And the church fathers understood and appreciated arts maximally for this transcendent function, itโs contextually mesmerizing.
So, it may seem like Iโve been missing in action to some of you.
But itโs only because I am excavating the aesthetic architecture of the soul and preparing to produce an impactful series that will influence how we look at the arts going forward. And thereโs a lot of more groundwork ahead of me before I even touch a paint brush, but that is the goal - to visually revitalize Christianity into the mainstream.
